Introduction to CLAS

Culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) enhance service quality for all individuals, reduce health disparities, and promote health equity. Addressing well-documented health inequities in our nation, CLAS is one strategy that helps eliminate these disparities by tailoring services to individuals' cultural and language preferences. Health services that respect and respond to diverse patients' beliefs, practices, and needs can improve health outcomes.
