Are you serious about applying health equity, but not sure where to start? This course, based on the Health Equity Guidebook developed by the Metro Denver Partnership, is for you. We’ll prepare you to close gaps in health status that result from systemic, avoidable, and unjust policies and practices that create barriers to opportunity for certain people. To effectively engage in health equity work, you will also need to look inward at your own values and biases. You’ll learn how to equip yourself and your colleagues to challenge and transform systems that disadvantage entire populations. This course has three main objectives:

What to ExpectWe use a flipped-classroom approach, so you’ll work through course content independently and then connect with a small cohort of peers weekly for live learning sessions that provide an opportunity to ask questions, share your knowledge, and learn from others. 6 Live Learning SessionsEach session will include a facilitated discussion among class participants related to that week’s topic. A subject matter expert will lead the discussion, engage participants, and answer questions. Below is the schedule for our live sessions.
Weekly Online Learning ActivitiesEach week, you must complete assigned online learning activities that include reading and watching videos. There will also be a short assignment in preparation for each live learning session that should take about an hour to complete. Course AccessThe course will materials will be available 2 weeks before the first live session. You will receive additional instructions at that time.
