Join us for a workshop series made up of four monthly webinars themed around Financial Management. This series will explore how financial systems support mission and impact and will include discussions focused on decision-making with financial statements, effective processes for invoicing and tracking revenue, practical strategies for braiding funding sources, and building trust through financial compliance. Participants will engage in practical discussions and scenarios focused on real world decision making and sustainability. Ideal forThis series is open to anyone interested in strengthening their understanding of how financial practices support a strong program, informed decision-making, and organizational sustainability. What to ExpectEach of these workshops is standalone and participation is welcome and encouraged in all four but not required. Workshop 1: Decision Making with Financial StatementsMarch 19, 2026 | 01:00 - 02:30 PM MT. Decision Making with Financial Statements is a 90-minute interactive workshop designed to help participants see the big picture of how financial statements support mission, programs, and impact. The session explores why financial statements matter, how finance connects to program outcomes, and the distinction between financial management and financial reporting. Participants will practice reading and interpreting statements through guided breakout discussions and structured questions. The course introduces metrics that can be derived from financial statements to inform decisions. By the end of the workshop, participants will understand how to interpret financial data for sustainability and next-step planning. Learning Objectives
Workshop 2: Can I Invoice This? Processes for Invoicing and Tracking RevenueApril 6, 2026 | 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM MT. Can I Invoice This? Process for Invoicing and Tracking Revenue is a 90-minute interactive workshop designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of how revenue flows from funding sources to compliant, accurate invoicing. The session explores revenue sources, common allowable costs, and how to match revenue and budgets to invoices. Participants will review the best practices for invoicing and audit-ready processes. A guided breakout activity will provide an opportunity to examine different scenarios. The course highlights best practices for invoice preparation, documentation, and internal coordination across program, finance, and leadership roles. By the end of the session, participants will leave with practical tools to create processes that support solid organizational practices. Learning Objectives
Workshop 3: Practical Strategies and Tools for Braiding Funding SourcesApril 29, 2026 | 09:00 - 10:30 AM MT. Practical Strategies and Tools for Braiding Funding Sources is a 90-minute interactive workshop that helps participants navigate how to combine multiple funding sources in ways that are strategic, operationally feasible, and audit-compliant. The course clarifies the differences between braiding, blending, and supplanting through practical examples and activities. Participants will learn about cost allocation and shared cost methodologies. Through guided practice, attendees will work through scenarios for federal, state, foundation, and general funds while maintaining clear tracking and documentation. Learning Objectives
Workshop 4: Building Trust Through Financial ComplianceMay 19, 2026 | 01:00 - 02:30 PM MT. Building Trust Through Financial Compliance is a 90-minute interactive workshop designed to build a clear, practical understanding of fiscal compliance and why it matters for organizational sustainability and funder trust. The session introduces core compliance concepts, differentiates between funding types, and explains key regulatory frameworks such as Uniform Guidance, state fiscal rules, and grant agreements. Participants will gain insight into audit rules and tests, with a focus on common high-risk areas. By the end of the session, participants will better understand the role of fiscal policies, internal controls, and everyday practices in reducing risk and strengthening compliance.
