In this challenging time, public health professionals must be able to speak productively and meaningfully with people who hold different political perspectives and view complex issues differently. When we understand which foundational moral values resonate with us, we can recognize, appreciate, and learn to speak to other people's values in the communities we serve. This video of the didactic portion of the workshop provides viewers with an opportunity to explore how Moral Foundations Theory intersects with public health communication and to apply each of the six foundational values to highly relevant messaging challenges including structural racism and COVID-19. From frontline workers to those working to effect policy change, viewers will learn strategies to bridge differences to become trusted messengers and further the health of their communities.
